Dear entrants!

Admission of students to the National Aviation Academy is carried out pursuant to the Admission rules approved by the State Examination Centre(SEC) and «Azerbaijan Airlines» CJSC.

Applicants meeting the requirements specified in the Admission rules are enrolled in the National Aviation Academy based on the test exams results and the general competition held by the State Examination Centre.

Educational programs of NAA specialties are developed on the basis of modern requirements, which are applied to specialists of the labor market of our country and the world, using the experience gained by leading scientific and educational centers, industrial enterprises and companies, and approved by the Ministry of Science and Education.

The competition in specialties trained in English is held jointly with the Azerbaijani and Russian language departments.

Dear entrants!

We bring to your attention the Rules for admission of students to the National Aviation Academy of «Azerbaijan Airlines» CJSC for the 2023-2024 academic year:

  1. International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has adopted English as a shared language for communication in international airspace and the operation of aviation equipment. Therefore, only applicants who have passed the English competition as a «foreign language» in exams conducted by the State Examination Centre can be admitted to the 1st group specialties of National Aviation Academy.
  2. Applicants under the age of 23 are accepted for the specialties 050639 «Flight Engineering» and 050613 «Air Traffic Control».
  3. Applicants who applied for the specialty the specialties 050639 «Flight Engineering» and 050613 «Air Traffic Control», after admission to the Academy, i. e. during training on 1st course must undergo a special medical examination, taking into account their choice of profession, and pass «Psychophysiological selection of profession» test at the Medical-Flight Expert Commission under the Medical-Sanitary Department of Aviation Polyclinic of Heydar Aliyev International Airport for identification of special abilities and to fulfill norms on «physical preparation» at the National Aviation Academy.
  4. Students in the specialties 050639 «Flight Engineering» and 050613 «Air Traffic Control» who have successfully passed special medical examination and test for identification of special abilities, will continue training in relevant specialties. Students who fail to undergo a special medical examination or special aptitude test will be given the opportunity to continue their studies in other specialties of the Academy.
  5. For all other specialties indicated by the State Examination Centre in the announcement submitted by the National Aviation Academy, applicants who have undergone a general medical examination in polyclinics at the place of residence and who comply with the documents duly approved by the State Examination Centre, can be admitted.
  6. Citizens of foreign states can study at the National Aviation Academy only on a paid basis.

To the attention of applicants wishing to be admitted to the specialties 050639 «Flight Engineering» and 050613 «Air Traffic Management» of the National Aviation Academy:

  • Medical examination of the NAA applicants in the specialties «Flight Engineering» and «Air Traffic Control» is carried out on the basis of requirements of the Azerbaijan Aviation Regulations (AARs).
  • Applicants and students in the specialty «Flight Engineering» undergo medical examination on the basis «Medical provisions when issuing certificates to the aircraft crew» (AAR-PEL-004) (Personnel Licensing) -004), both «Acceptable Means of Compliance » (AMC) and «Guided Materials» (GM) (G-PEL-002) related to the AARs. Assessment of applicants and students medical suitability is carried out on the basis of requirements presented in Chapter «B» of these Regulations.
  • Applicants and students in the specialty «Air Traffic Control» undergo medical examination on the basis of «Issuance of certificates to air traffic controllers» (AAR-PEL-006) ), «Acceptable Means of Compliance » (AMC) and Guided Materials» (GM) (GM) (G-PEL-003) related to the AARs. Assessment of applicants and students medical suitability is carried out on the basis of the criteria presented in «Medical requirements for Air Traffic Controllers», Chapter «B», Section IV, the AARs.
  • In the aviation polyclinic, applicants and students in the specialties «Flight Engineering» and «Air Traffic Control» undergo clinical and laboratory analysis, are examined by ENT, oculist, neuropathologist, therapist such doctors as; in addition, their EEG (electroencephalograms), ECG (electrocardiograms) as well as USI (ultrasound investigation) will be also checked; they must undergo such examinations as spirometry, X-rays, & etc. Hearing, eyesight, weight and height, vestibular function indicators should be normal, there should be no physical impairment, as well as speech impairment.
  • Psychophysiological examination of entrants and students in the specialties «Flight Engineering» and «Air Traffic Control» includes diagnostics of cognitive and sensory-motor functions, results of conversation and communication with them.
  • Cognitive functions determine cognitive processes - perception, attention, anticipation, thinking, imagination and speech abilities. This, in turn, is aimed at identifying such psychological characteristics as spatial, visual and auditory perception, short-term, practical memory and visual memory, logical-mathematical thinking, spatial imagination within the limits of time.
  • The psychophysiological examination is carried out individually and in groups. The candidates are interviewed during the individual examination. During the conversation, questions are asked to obtain basic information about civil aviation.
