Admission of students to the National Aviation Academy is carried out pursuant to the Admission rules approved by the State Examination Centre(SEC) and «Azerbaijan Airlines» CJSC.

Applicants meeting the requirements specified in the Admission rules are enrolled in the National Aviation Academy based on the test exams results and the general competition held by the State Examination Centre.

Dear entrants!

We are delighted to share with you the admission guidelines for the National Aviation Academy of AZAL CJSC f the OJSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" for the academic year 2025-2026:

  1. Since the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has adopted English as the common language for communication in international airspace and the operation of aviation equipment, applicants who have passed the English language exam in the tests conducted by the State Examination Center (SEC) may be admitted to the first groups of specializations at National Aviation Academy (NAA).
  2. Candidates who fulfill the competition criteria from both the Azerbaijani and Russian-language departments are eligible to participate in the admission competition for the English-language programs at National Aviation Academy.
  3. The study period for the specializations 6006044 "Flight Engineering," 6006014 "Air Traffic Management," and 6006001 "Aerospace Engineering" in the English-language departments, as well as for the part-time specialization 6002007 "Law," is five years. For all other specializations and academic groups, the study duration is four years.
  4. Candidates interested in the specializations 6004002 "Business Management," 6004004 "Economics," 6004007 "Management," and 6006040 "Radio and Telecommunication Engineering" at National Aviation Academy are eligible to participate in the admission competition from both Azerbaijani and Russian-language departments. Instruction for these programs is provided in Azerbaijani.
  5. Those seeking to enroll in the specializations 6006044 "Flight Engineering" and 6006014 "Air Traffic Management" are required to complete a specialized medical examination, relevant to their chosen profession, at aviation medical center or expert medical commission. This examination must take place from April 3 to May 5, 2025, following a referral from National Aviation Academy (NAA). Furthermore, applicants must also satisfy the physical fitness requirements set by the Academy.
  6. Applicants who have successfully passed the special medical examination and met the physical fitness standards, and who are no older than 23 years, are eligible for admission to the specializations 6006044 "Flight Engineering" and 6006014 "Air Traffic Management." Additionally, these candidates may apply for any other first group specializations mentioned in the SEC. announcement from the NAA.
  7. Candidates accepted into NAA all other specialties, as outlined in the announcement from the State Examination Center, are required to undergo a medical examination at clinics located in their area of residence or registration. They must also submit health status documentation to National Aviation Academy. 
  8. International students may enroll at National Aviation Academy solely on a tuition-paying basis.
Attention to applicants intended to enroll in the specializations 6006044 "Flight Engineering" and 6006014 "Air Traffic Management" at National Aviation Academy:
  • Individuals seeking to participate in a specialized medical examination at an aviation medical center or an expert medical commission are required to submit documents stated below::
  1. Referral obtained from National Aviation Academy;
  2. Identification card;
  3. Eight 3x4 photographs;
  4. Initial military registration certificate.

     From the clinic at the registration location:

  1. Outpatient medical record extract TQS No. 027;
  2. Certificate confirming the applicant's registration with a psychiatrist.

     From the narcological dispensary:

  1. Certificate confirming the applicant's registration with the dispensary.

For individuals registered in Baku: 79 Abbas Mirza Sharifzada Street, Yasamal District, Baku;

For individuals registered in other cities and districts: 71 Akhund Sheikh Hussein Street, Mashtaga Settlement, Sabunchu District, Baku.

Please be aware :that every certificate is required to display the registration date, along with a signature and stamp.           

  • Candidates are required to complete a series of medical evaluations, which include therapeutic, otorhinolaryngological, ophthalmological, neurological, psychological assessments, as well as laboratory and functional tests such as EEG, ECG, ultrasound, spirometry, and X-ray. These examinations must be conducted at aviation medical centers or by an expert medical commission.
In accordance with the AARs, the admission criteria for National Aviation Academy, and the directive from the OJSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" regarding the "Evaluation of Psychological Traits of Aviation Personnel," we would like to inform you that
  • Admission to the specializations 6006044 "Flight Engineering" and 6006014 "Air Traffic Management" at National Aviation Academy (NAA) follows the academy's established admission guidelines.
  • Once applicants are accepted into these programs, their psychological well-being will be evaluated by psychologists during their first year of study.
  • Students who receive unsatisfactory results from their psychological assessments will be redirected to alternative specializations.
  • For those enrolled in the specialization 6006044 "Flight Engineering," a two-phase evaluation of their psychological traits and suitability for the aviation environment will be conducted either during their studies or after graduation, prior to their entry into the pilot training program at the CJSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" Flight Training Center.
  • This evaluation will utilize specialized software that incorporates psychomotor tests and assessments conducted by psychologists to determine the students' (graduates') psychological characteristics and their compatibility with the flight environment.
  • Individuals who do not pass the psychological assessment successfully will not be allowed to participate in training flights.
  • Graduates of the specialization 6006014 "Air Traffic Management" from National Aviation Academy will be required to undergo a psychological assessment conducted by psychologists during their job application process.
  • Candidates who receive unsatisfactory results on their psychological assessment will not be considered for employment.

Please be aware that the National Aviation Academy does not take responsibility for the outcomes of the psychological assessments mentioned above.

Furthermore:

  • The medical assessment for candidates applying for the specializations of "Flight Engineering" and "Air Traffic Management" at NAA is carried out in compliance with the AARs.
  • Applicants and students of the specialty "Air Traffic Management" undergo medical examination IAW the AARs "Issuance of Certificates to Air Traffic Controllers" (AAR-PEL-004)"Acceptable Means of Compliance" (AMC) and "Guidance Materials" (G-PEL-002). The medical fitness of applicants and students is evaluated based on the criteria in Chapter "B" of Title IV of the Rule "Medical Requirements for Air Traffic Controllers".
  •  Applicants and students of the specialty "Air Traffic Management" undergo medical examination IAW the AARs "Issuance of Certificates to Air Traffic Controllers" (AAR-PEL-006), "Acceptable Means of Compliance" (AMC) and "Guidance Materials" (G-PEL-003). The medical fitness of applicants and students is evaluated based on the criteria in Chapter "B" of Title IV of the Rule "Medical Requirements for Air Traffic Controllers"
