Specialty 050604 - Instrument Engineering at the National Academy of Aviation "AZAL" CJSC is designed to train specialists in the design, production, application, operation and adjustment of aerospace instruments and systems, instrumentation and complexes, design and programming, installation, adjustment, calibration and operation instrumentation equipment for aviation and rocket-space, as well as for other areas of industry.

The National Aviation Academy of "AZAL" CJSC, within the specialty 050604 - Instrument Engineering, provides for bachelor's training in two directions: 1) Aerospace instruments and systems; and 2) Quality control and diagnostic instruments.

Students of the specialty Instrument Engineering, thanks to the acquired knowledge, skills and professional competencies, are formed as highly qualified specialists in the design, construction and programming, production, application, installation and calibration of electronic devices, measuring and control and diagnostic instruments and systems both for the aerospace field and for medical, fuel and energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, food and other industries.

The curriculum of the specialty of 050604 – Instrument Engineering covers modern requirements for specialists and is based on the experience of leading research and educational centers, industrial enterprises and companies in various areas and requirements for specialists.

When developing a program of education for the specialty 050604 - Instrument Engineering also taken into account requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (İCAO), Azerbaijan Aviation Regulations (AAR) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the design, production, testing and operation of instruments and systems for the aerospace field.

At the National Academy of Aviation (NAA) of "AZAL" CJSC, the standard period of study in the specialty 050604 - Instrument Engineering for bachelors of the Azerbaijani and Russian sectors is 4 years, and for the English sector - 5 years.

In the NAA, specialty 050604 - Instrument Engineering also provides for obtaining engineering knowledge in hardware and software of computer systems, IT, computer modeling, computer-aided design of systems, etc.

During their studies, students of the Instrument Engineering specialty will have the opportunity to gain experience in the National Aviation Academy, structural divisions of Azerbaijan Hava Yollary, Silk Way Holding and Azercosmos, airlines, a number of ministries, departments, enterprises and organizations.

For future engineers who decide to design, manufacture, test, and operate aerospace devices, this experience will enable them to become certified personnel to maintain aerospace devices and equipment.

Thanks to the professional competencies acquired by graduates who successfully completed the educational program they will be engaged in modern airplanes, airplanes and helicopters for various purposes, aviation and rocket and space technology, manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as design, design and programming of instruments and equipment, production, installation and calibration of instruments and equipment for such areas as medicine, fuel and energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, military technology.
