Azerbaijani students begin experience exchange program in Aerospace Innovations in the Republic of Turkey

The opening ceremony of a project dedicated to the visit of Azerbaijan universities students to the Republic of Turkey for an exchange of experiences in the fields of space, astronautics, aviation, innovations, technical sciences, artificial intelligence, and engineering took place.

As reported by the AZERTAC news agency, the opening ceremony was held in Bursa (the Republic of Turkey), with the organizational support of the Space Academy, which operates under the auspices of the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan ("Azercosmos"), and with the support of Gökmen Aerospace and Aviation Center (GUHEM — Gökmen Uzay ve Havacılık Merkezi), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, and the SABAH Group.

The event was attended by Imran Muktarov, head of the SPACE Academy; Murat Baladjaev, Vice Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul; Halit Mirahmetoglu, General Director of GUHEM; Elza Samedova, sector head of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education; Inara Ibrahimkhaliyeva, Director of HR and Documentation Department ("Azercosmos"); Ibrahim Burkay, Chairman of the Board of GUHEM, as well as other participants.

During the opening ceremony, the speakers emphasized that the primary goal of the project is to enhance the theoretical and practical knowledge of Azerbaijani youth in technological fields such as Space, Aerospace, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Aviation, as well as to support their development as strong specialists of the future in these fields through international experience exchange. This also contributes to the development of professional personnel and human capital in Azerbaijan and supports the country's growth both regionally and globally.

Ravil Mursalov, Head of the Sector (National Aviation Academy), presented information covering the Academy's activities.

The first astronaut of the Republic of Türkiye, Alper Gezeravcı, then met with the delegation and gave a lecture on a related topic to a wide audience.

After the opening, students and young scientists began the exchange of experiences within the framework of the aviation and astronautics program at the center.

Starting tomorrow, the trip will continue with practical activities, including simulators and methods for approaching critical situations based on simulation.

It is noteworthy that the exchange program involves students and young scientists from 14 universities in Azerbaijan. As part of the cooperation between "Azercosmos" and the "Zafar" organization, children of martyrs and disabled soldiers have also been included in the project.

During the trip, which will last until March 19, students will visit, in addition to Bursa, the Turkish Space Agency and TurkSat in Ankara, STM (Defense Technologies, Engineering, and Trade), “HAVELSAN” Company, the Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Institute (TÜBİTAK), the PLAN-S Satellite and Aerospace Technology Center, the Mediterranean Technical University, and in Istanbul, leading centers such as "Baykar" (a leader in the Turkish Defense Industry), “Turkish Aerospace Industries” (TUSAŞ), “Istanbul Technopark”, and the “Technology Development Zove” (Bilişim Vadisi).
