Instrument Engineering – 050604 specialty provides training of specialists of the National Aviation Academy of "Azerbaijan Hava Yollari" CJSC in projecting, manufacture, operation and maintenance of aerospace devices and instrumentation and complexes, design and programming, installation, calibration and operation of aircraft and rocket and space technology, as well as a number of other industries.

At the National Aviation Academy of "Azerbaijan Hava Yollari" CJSC the bachelor's degree in this specialty is mainly shown in 3 areas: aviation devices, quality control and diagnostics devices, devices and equipment for control systems of remotely piloted aircraft.

Students of the specialty of Instrument Engineering due to the acquired knowledge, skills and experience are formed as highly qualified specialists in projecting and programming, installation, calibration and operation of electronic devices and measuring and monitoring and diagnostic devices and systems in both aerospace and medical, fuel and energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, food industries.

The curriculum of the specialty of Instrument Engineering – 050604 covers modern requirements for specialists and is based on the experience of leading research and educational centers, industrial enterprises and companies in various areas and requirements for specialists.

At the same time, the 050604 – Instrument Engineering curriculum was developed in accordance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Aviation Rules of Azerbaijan (AAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for flight and performance of civil aviation devices and equipment.

The normative study period at the National Aviation Academy of "Azerbaijan Hava Yollari" CJSC in the 050604 – Instrument engineering specialty is 4 years for undergraduate students of Azerbaijani and Russian departments, and 5 years for students studying in English.

The program of specialty 050604 – Instrument Engineering of the National Aviation Academy provides students with excellent fundamental knowledge, and also provides for the formation of skills in engineer, IT, hardware and software of computer systems, creation of computer-based instruments, computer-aided design and production of instruments.

During their studies, students of the Instrument Engineering specialty will have the opportunity to gain experience in the National Aviation Academy, structural divisions of Azerbaijan Hava Yollary, Silk Way Holding and Azercosmos, airlines, a number of ministries, departments, enterprises and organizations.

This experience will allow future engineers who choose the development, production, testing and operation of aerospace devices to obtain the "Certificate of Personnel for the Maintenance of Aerospace Instruments and Equipment".

Thanks to the professional competencies acquired by graduates who successfully completed the educational program they will be engaged in modern airplanes, airplanes and helicopters for various purposes, aviation and rocket and space technology, manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as design, design and programming of instruments and equipment, production, installation and calibration of instruments and equipment for such areas as medicine, fuel and energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, military technology.

Graduates of this wide range of engineering who specialize in biomedical engineering, quality control and diagnostics, electrical engineering, electronics in various fields, including transportation, energy, oil and gas, medicine, general-and-special purpose areas, as well as aviation and aerospace, will have the opportunity to work in senior positions and various professions, such as an electrical engineer, electronic equipment, metrological control and standardization specialist, device technology engineer, engineering, design, device and equipment programming, installation and calibration, equipment handling and operation.
